My life in boxes

Ugh. I can't even stand knicknacks or other junk laying around. Having...

A) All my stuff in boxes that I can't easily get to
and
B) Having all these boxes in hallways and bedrooms and living rooms looking all disorganized...

...makes me want to pull my hair out. I just want to magically be transported, unpacked, and put away at my new apartment.

Sweet Baby Jesus....

...help me. You have no idea how many times the following scenario occurs at the hospital I volunteer at.

Person: Hello, I have a doctor's appointment. Can you tell me where to go?
Me: What is the doctor's name?
Person: I don't know.
Me: Did they tell you what suite to go to?
Person: No.
Me: What kind of doctor is it?
Person: I don't know.
Me: Do you have their phone number? I can call them.
Person: No, I don't.
Me: Do you have any paperwork from them? Anything that can help me figure out where you are supposed to be?
Person: No, I don't.
Me: (Exasperated sigh - but I do try to do it somewhat quietly so they can't totally tell how frustrated I am)

Then they proceed to get frustrated with me because I don't just know the patient roster for four towers of doctors offices as well as the hospital (which there is absolutely no way of knowing). Seriously?! Maybe before the you leave the house you should know where the eff you are going.

It's times like this when I wonder how these people have made it to adulthood.

One person's trash is another person's treasure

I had a garage sale this past weekend. I had one table alone full of books. A man came by and purchased quite a few. After he had paid he mentioned that he was a book turner. Out of curiosity I asked him if he sold them online. He replied, no, he sold them at Powell's, and proceeded to smuggly explain that next time I wanted to sell books, I should try Powell's first before selling them so cheaply at a garage sale. I smiled and nodded, and told him I would remember that.

What he didn't know was that I did that exact thing two days earlier, and all the books he just bought were the ones Powell's rejected. Sucker.

Jumping on the blogging bandwagon...

So not to sound like I have any great insights to share, but I had been thinking of starting a blog for a while now. Just a way to keep in touch with friends who I will no longer get to see all the time. And my parents. Probably mostly for them. They're having a hard time with my moving 2,000 miles away, but I figure if I can keep them up to date with what I'm doing and how my life is going, it will make things a teensy bit easier for them.

Plus now I'll have an outlet for all the bitching and moaning I am sure I will be doing. And it will be a great distraction when I don't want to study.
